So reading through these forums I see alot of people aren't too fond of wings and spoilers. My question is why? Why all the hate on them, am I missing out on something, enlighten please.

So reading through these forums I see alot of people aren't too fond of wings and spoilers. My question is why? Why all the hate on them, am I missing out on something, enlighten please. They look ridiculous, serve no purpose on 99% of the street cars that have them, add weight (and thus actually HURT performance), and did I mention they look ridiculous? No trunk-mounted wing is actually doing anything for you other than making your car look like a child's toy. Even Evo and STi wings are mostly unnecessary. If you're worried that your stock car looks like a squished hamburger, maybe you should have bought a different car in the first place? Also, to the kid who is working 3 jobs to save money for a big dumb ricer wing - save the money for something worthwhile like college or beer.
