Hey guys! First off thanks for all your help in diagnosing my girl's car. Got it running now and runs great! I have another issue/question regarding cold temp starting. Since it has been getting colder out here in NJ, I've noticed that on first starting the car after it has been sitting for a while, the engine doesn't rev to about 1500 as I've seen it done in other Toyotas. Is this normal? If not, does that mean the cold start valve or ISV has gone bad? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

the engine doesnt rev? you cant get the the RPMs over 1500? or when you start the car, it idles at 1500? I'm pretty sure he means that the car won't idle at 1,500rpms like it is supposed to do during a cold start. Yes, what she said. Searching on the forums led me to the IAC. I'm going to try to clean it out this week. Is there anything else that could cause this symptom? |
