Hey guys,
I'm new here and wanted to get something straight. Are the 7A-FE motors from 90's Corolla the same as the 7A-FE in the Celica's? I have a 97' ST Celica that threw a rod bearing and I'm looking for a replacement engine. Would it be safer to buy a OBDII 7A-FE from another Celica or would a 94-95 Corolla motor do? If a Corolla motor will do, what are some of the things I would need to use from the Celica 7A-FE to work with the 7A-FE in the Corolla motor? Any info would be appreciate. Thanks! |

Sorry, i didn't mean to thread jack. But i'm sure this topic could use more information than what's here. Why would i waste money on gaskets to swap things that don't need to be swapped? i.e. throttle body, intake manifold, egr, injectors, fuel pressure regulaor, valve cover etc... Does that make sense? Can anyone post the differences between the 2 cars/engine's? Any useful information before this thread get clustered with arguments?
Edit- And i'm going to try using the block, and head, so basically complete engine minus sensor's and vacuum lines and other small things. This way i don't have to do new head gasket and make this alot more complicated swap. This post has been edited by vagina: Apr 6, 2011 - 6:47 PM |

So you don't have problems found in this thread. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=78796 My 7a also eats oil like its candy, but is also leaking so I can't really determine which is eatting it faster. Meh runs great, just bleeds like a stuff pig....but this is also why i have a 3s otw =p GL, but no one is going to have a comprehensive list of each engines diffrences. You are going to have to swap'em out, and compare them side by side, or switch just the block as said. This post has been edited by rave2n: Apr 7, 2011 - 5:43 AM |
