hey quick update, since last check there were overheating issues, come to find out that its a bad headgasket... upon further investigation, we find THIS:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() come to find out that JDM PLANET sent us a BAD MOTOR as you can see in the pics, the cylinder walls are damaged a bit. what you cant see from the pics is that it had several leaks from the headgasket, and was apparently beat on and run in that manner. JDM PLANET refused to cooperate, and basically were stuck with the bag. the good news is i managed to get a hold of some ARP head studs which will do some good for a good price. The block and head will be going to a machine shop to be honed and surfaced etc. hopefully that is all that is necessary and no boring will be needed... if so its either new pistons/rods and bearings (which doc said he had a feeling he wouldnt be happy about when he sees them) Doc and cam have been great, and ive gotten the opportunity to do some hands on work, so that is the best side to this neverending story! hopefully my car will behave itself from now on... fortune should be on my side for this year i pray! (and YES i was tempted to just throw some aftermrket rods and pistons in there but i just dont have the $$ ![]() ![]() -------------------- |
