I'm in this community for ages and as I remember there always been 6GC.NET calendar. I do not want to talk about what happened last year. I would like to talk about what will happen this year.
I really would like to see next year on my wall 6GC.NET calendar. Question is what needs to be done to make this happen. - I know there is needed approval from the owner (to use 6GC.NET logo) - I know there is needed to find the best 12pictures around (or 14... 12months, cover and bonus month for 2013.. whatever) - I know there is needed someone who manage this - I know there is needed deadline. Soon enough deadline to have calendar in December 2011 delivered. and I also know it is not any hard to manage this. Last year I made one for Celica Czech Republic Club. We made deadline for pictures in October and a month ago I was sending finished calendars... see the topic http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76445 that's it. Nothing more needed. My point is. If I'm able to manage 20 calendars for $17 internationally delivered each from CZ... anyone in US can do the same for similar price. So... how hard could it be to see 6GC.NET calendar 2012 on the wall? This post has been edited by malpaso: Sep 26, 2011 - 12:17 AM -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... I would like to make a small summary from making this calendar because I believe there are some "lessons learnt" worths to share
![]() The most important is to have good pictures I know it may sound stupid but using in calendar picture just because someone voted for it and not thinking about "printing possibilities" is not vise at all. I was so surprised COTM winners simply do not have pictures in high resolution? (and 1024x768 is really not high resolution). In the future if there is any calendar selection of pictures must have much different criteria than so far had because we need to ask question: Do we want good looking calendar or calendar with just exact cars inside and no matter how it will look printed? More pictures on page are looking better than just one When 2012 calendar was finished I was surprised i like more pages where are 3-4 pictures used than just 2. Maybe anyone else will have different opinion but for me it was big surprise. So maybe would be good to think about calendar in the future bit different way. I will use GT4OC.NET calendar as example... pictures for it were collected like 6months and ANYONE could participated with ANY resolution of picture. Small resolution = small picture... hight resolution = big picture. So you want your car be seen? make decent picture! That is all ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see there are like 12 pictures used on one page! So amount of pictures on page should be variable. it just depends on how many people will participate and how many pictures in enough. Timing and pricing matters! Must share with one unexpected fact. We started with this calendar sooner than in previous years (that is good because there are 6 weeks to deliver all calendars... so even members from other side of the globe will have it by the end of this year for sure). Anyway... if we were started for a month sooner it would be even better. What happened is printing company changed prices before Christmas and exchange rate of $ changed as well. Thanks to this I needed to donate every calendar with 60cents in the end. That was impact of simple fact I wanted this calendar as cheap as possible and did not counted with things like this. I do not complain! If I did not wanted to I would not do that... Anyway... next time would be good to start even sooner and add like one dollar to price for "just in case" reason. -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)
