Rice is good with every meal so eat up buddy. lol
Who cares. The whole rice thing is stupid IMO. If u like wing and body kits and loud exhaust go for it. forget wut everybody else thinks. Its ur car. U built. Unless someone else put money into ur ride they have no room to put their 2 cents in on it.

yea but its easier said than done.. cuz I like to go to shows and not be laughed at.. but have something people like.. now of course you won't please everyone... but it is important to do what you like. smile.gif

my advice is to get a few opinions from people you know and trust... for example.. I wanted to go with the blitz body kit for my car.. but my friend suggested I just keep it simple and go with a lip kit... thats what I did and I loved it...

Yeah but then u start please other people insted of urself. This is my car I do wut I want to do with it. Ya know. Like I said If u r building it who care wut other people think. As long as u like it thats all that matters. I u like the Bitz kit go with it Jaws. Its ur car not ur friends. I back people up when they go out of the norm. Its gets boring seeing the same kit on the same car or wing or wutever time after time again. Originality is where its at. Its like art. Noby paints the same portraits everyone is diverce.

speaking of rice
i showed a picture of a GT Four to my friend and he called it rice
and i nearly slapped him
i was like this is stock!
and called him an idiot and walked away
and u do what u want to ur car...im not into the whole big spoiler and body kit thing, i like to keep my car simple and clean, but if u like do it
so what if people talk **** chances are you'll never see them again,
my car is stock on the outside exept for rims, and this jackass in a four banger mustang (stock who ive beaten many times) has called my car rice

from my understanding of what "rice" is it is non functional modifications to your car. Like the stick on engine vents on the fenders for example, and a non functioning hood scoop.

I don't think you have to worry about your spoiler anyway, it was designed with aerodynamics in mind and WRC proven.

Liljoe makes a good point though, originality is what sets people apart. If you like a certain body kit you shouldn't stop cause what somebody else might think.

Thanx man. Atleast someone is pickin up wut Im puttin down. This is one of the arguements that could start a war if u let. lol But seriously. If u really wanna get into it deep about "Rice" stop and think. I REALLY MEAN STOP AND THINK! Any USDM car could be a ricer, about the only people who could get away with not being one are Japanese since the developed the whole scene in the first place. Not too many people knew about tuners until FNF came out. I mean seriously most of the parts we buy and engines we tune and cars we build are imports. Therefore we are classified as ricers because the cars come from the land of the riseing sun where everyone eats rice. (Turst me my wife is Okinawan we eat with every meal). So the only names people can call us that even remotely comes close to japanese is a ricer. Cuz anything else is just a complement.

if you go to a general car forum you will learn that there are two kinds of cars
if you have a domestic you're a redneck, if you have an import you're a ricer
its lose lose
most domestic owners (especially of muscle cars) call any japanese/korean car rice, doesnt matter what it looks like or how much power it has
its retarded i know, but thats how it is
my car is bone stock and ford/dodge/pontiac owners always call it rice
i just say, nice rustang that cant turn, enjoy your live rear axle technology from the 20s

The nearest I can figure. my spoiler is a functional trunk handle. Nothing else to grab when I open my trunk. As far as aerodynamics, well, if an SC430 can get by with a little lip on the trunk, I'm reasonably confident Toyota could make a Celica work without a big honking wing smile.gif

okay let me put an end to this mislead image of "RICE" kindasad.gif
"Rice" is not necessary a bad word but obviously the USA does seem so.

R.I.C.E. actually stands for
Race
Inspired
Cosmetic
Enhancement

Anything that goes on your car that "improves" the driving that many race cars have is, by definition, RICE. Remember, the word RICE is not a bad word at all, it is just a term for anything cosmetic on your car that is race inspired (canards, spoilers, scoops, grills, diffusers, fender flare, the list goes on).
so get that image of "rice" you guys have and start spreading the REAL meaning to other misinformed tuners around you, the japanese man speaks... biggrin.gif
