Vtech is just varitable camshaft timing; i believe we call it VVi or VVIt or something like that. (idfk; but every auto maker has it an calls it something dfferent)

Finaly, NO ONE is dogging on 7a guys. And there's no reason to dogg on other peoples cars.

4. Please refrain from posting pointless posts, such as posts that are just smilies or posts that say stuff like "I'm with stupid" or "Page 2 Owned!"). This includes sarcastic posts about making fun of someone's car, or playful arguing with one another in a thread. These posts simply take over threads and turn them into useless garbage. Remember, the point of these forums is to discuss the sixth generation Celica.

i wasn't dogging on anyones car if they want a honda like that let em go for it, but you dont see us going around sayin of i got Wi or w/e going ya you wont beat me blah blah blah. i live in mississippi and 99% of ppl who drive hondas around here do it. and thanks lil joe
and d-man yes not everyone is dogging on a 7a but a lot of people seem to do it, most everyone on here says be unique and make your celica the way YOU want it, so if someone wants to keep there 7a and convert it to a 7afte/7age/7agte. telling them they could swap to the 3s for around the same amount is an option, just dont say drop the 7a and get a 3s it wat u need to do, try it like have you ever considered a....

Have a name of who i was making fun of?? see here in mississippi people put a 4 foot wing, those chrome vents on the finders, a 4" inlet muffler and like 22" rims and expect it to be super fast.

I was just stating a point. and i asked a question, so its not pointless.

Everyone is jumping at me. all i asked was if the basic concept is be unique, why tell everyone to get a 3s?? see everyone is just reading the first few sentences.

Here the thing most of us on this forum are learning just as much as the average Joe.(not me) But We're not telling them to drop their opinions we're just opening the doors for different options. I felt the same way u did. But I continued to read the threads, and talk and ask questions. No body is dogging on anybody. We just opening the doors. U can walk through if u want or u -turn out. There are plenty of guys who have gone the 7afte - 7agte route; But there's only so much you can do with a 7a. Infact, most 7a swappers goto the 4age and turbocharge that (due to engine fitting issues) 5sfe (gt) guys like to take the 3sgte route; because again, it's got more possibilities and it fits in our engine bay...

There are simply more GT guys that are activly concerned with geetting more power out of our engines (especialy with money to do something with our engines) than ST guys. That's why you see "3s swaps" all over the place here. But if you wanna turbo your 7afe:

Don't senselessly post about how fast a celica is against a civic...cause we'll there is a civic MUCH faster than you and look much better. (and we're tired of hearing this stupid argument/statement)
Ignorantly mocking hondas in general is of poor form and we don't do that here.

If you buy a celica expecting to be fast...er well you are in the same boat as the guy who bought the civic.
Nobody here even hates on a 7afe...Hurley/Oobe/Nik have all proven what its capable of and we are most all well aware of said results.
People suggest a 3sgte because its a fiscally better platform and has a greater potential. Unless you got money to waste like the pioneers of these motors (90% of this site doesn't) than your better suited looking for a 3sgte.

Being unique can be cool, but don't do it to just be unique. You'll waste a lot of money and go nowhere. Plus nothing is truly unique anymore. Find a goal and do what it takes to achieve the goal in the most efficient manner.

ah thanks d man, like i said not trying to dog on anyone, thats kinda why i started this. I more than likly will turbo this comin summer cause the $$ wont be as tight. hehe.
I love to see celicas and supras with 300hp+ but i don't see the point in all of that for a daily fwd car ya kno? i wouldn't want anymore than 250hp. somethin reasonable. for an average 18 year old.

haha not sensitive, just sayin, but i don't have money growing on trees, but like i said i know hondas can be fast, but around here, not so much, ya see, i didn't expect a celica to be fast, but i do happen to love the low end torque. I really got it cause i love the car in general, and it has exceptional handling. But read what i said, i didn't say all hondas i said around here. people around here not just on hondas but any car think that rims and a bodykit and chrome vents will give them a like a 100 more hp.
