It can be done but will take a lot of custom work. Check the stickies for the feasible and non feasible swaps thread. It explains nicely why the 2ZZ isn't really a good choice for the 6th gen.
I should add that the thread was written several years ago when the 2ZZ was much newer. The cost has come down now and with all the V6 swaps going around, the 2ZZ is now more feasible than it was then. However, I personally wouldn't touch it due to the crazy wiring work to be done, custom mounts, and most importantly, the 2ZZ is backwards in comparison to the 7A. The intake is towards the bumper and exhaust is towards the firewall. the 2ZZ is NOT and ill say again NOT a feasible swap. The engine makes hardly any torque and you have to spin the hell out of it to stay in 'LIFT'. the C60 transmission has gears made of glass. and finally its backwards! The intake and exhaust are on the opposite sides. The wiring will be a nightmare too. I havent checked but im willing to bet that the 2ZZ header will not clear the firewall.
Now for a 1MZ swap, that is WAY WAY more reasonable. It bolts right up to your stock S54 tranny. The wiring involved is about the same as a 3S-GTE (3rd gen) swap. and you can find the engine for about a 1000 bucks with harness, airbox, and all connections needed. and the final sales pitch for a 1MZ, it makes more HP and a TON more torque than a 2ZZ This post has been edited by Smaay: Jan 29, 2012 - 11:57 PM -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

The s54 will bolt up(5sfe tranny) the 7afe wont. But the s54 holds up to the 3sgte motors good so why not a 1mz?

The s54 will hold up but has kinda short gearing for the 1mz
Yhen its doesnt hold up as well on the 1mz as well ad the 3s because the 1mz has more power off the line than the 3s since theres no turbo to spool But for a stock swap it will work fine -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

If you use the s54 youll need stock front rear an drivers side gt mounts an custom pass sidebmount
An itll fit almost as good as the 5s fits stock -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

once i get my 1MZ swapped, ill have a final price, but i can tell already that that its going to be cheaper than a 3S-GTE swap.

The 1mzfe is like a redtop engine with blacktop internals. gearing would be 37 in first gear, 60 in 2nd gear, 87mph in 3rd gear, 113 in 4th gear, and 140+ in 5th gear. -------------------- Group buy to replicate Narrow E series transaxle parts

na its hard to belive bonzai , on my 3sge that s54 feels too short gearing it feels like i need a sixt gear. it feels like my type r trans but not as agresive. and the 1mz has more torque and power, but one thing is for sure that acceleration will be nice with that engine and trans.

sorry if this was already answered. the 1MZ-FE comes in the mid 90's Camry and ES300 and the 99-03 Solara. It comes with the E153 tranny in some Camrys and Solaras so thats a nice upgrade if you can find both.
the 1MZ also comes in the RX300 and Highlander and a few other models. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_MZ_engine -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo
