I can see the merit of an auto daily but it could not be a sole option for me.

Maybe if you were in hours of stop and go traffic every day, at which rate you should look into moving locations. Before fibro ****ed me I was using a manual daily, and my brother continues to only use manuals daily and that's with some mild stop and go traffic each day. I can see where some find the appeal(especially if they can't drive a manual to begin with), but for me it'd have to be a second or third vehicle and then only if it were a luxury car. I've contemplated somehow getting both a Miata and a GS430 or SC400, but then that's spreading resources too thin either way and compromising on the quality of each car and bringing them up on maintenance.

I drive on I4 for work, that qualifies. The bike cancels out the -10hp (and cool, obv) lost by...GASP...the "autotragic."

I had a low tire on the Mazda yesterday, which is why I keep a portable lighter socket powered air compressor (and a nice one too, Viar 85p) in my car. Except I had it in the wrong car, the Celica from the meet. Luckily I noticed before we were all locked up for the day and was able to fill it up before going home, found 2 leaks at home, plugged them today. Both were just BARELY punctured by short bits of crap, one nail end and the other some kind of steel scrap.

The 85p is a real nice compressor, I want to get a clamp for the battery for it but the lighter socket is so convenient. It'll fill most tires from empty to 30 in 2-3 minutes, topping up a low tire takes longer to setup than to fill.

These days my primary concern is ride quality more so than anything, the mile or so long road to the house is third world level of quality... I refuse to ride in the Genesis since before getting to the highway I can go from having an "ok" day to feeling like I'm dying as it absolutely kills me, and even the Audi can be bad enough at times. Surprisingly the Firebird and the NB2 Miata ride fairly well and to me better than the Audi, I guess because they use shocks instead of struts and don't transmit as much harshness into the body of the car.

I've thought about doing that, throw out the now dry rotted spare tire and replace it with a small air compressor and patching kit. Weight reduction, safer, and can do more than one tire if needed. Win win win.

It's hot out. But I got over to the barn and cleaned part of the inside of the Mazda with the Chinese tool. Looks damn good, didn't look bad before but now it looks damn good. I'll go back on a cooler weekend and do the rest. Now to relax, eat, and play games on the TV computer.

It's amazing what some deep/steam cleaning can do.

https://imgur.com/a/Z2qPEEn It is, I need to go back and do the rest of the car now, it smells much nicer inside the car too! I can't wait to get the fronts done, I think I'll take the seats out for that, and probably will take the rear seat backs out as well which means I'll need to bring a couple tools home which means I need to figure out what sizes things are and probably break them loose at work first. You know, in all my free time. Like when the secretary cuts my lunch short to go 'listen to this noise' which I do, which requires a test drive, then racking the car cause it sounds like it's got a loose wheel, then when I'm standing there wolfing down the last bites of my lunch 'uh are you going to get back to work?' in a nasty tone 'uh can I finish my food?' back in an equally nasty tone. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO TOLD ME TO STOP LUNCH AND LOOK AT THIS CAR!

I finally replaced the bad speaker in the Mazda on the driver side, I need to do the other one in the next week or something, it sounds unbalanced now.

Smelling nice is always good.

Not sure about all states, but in Alabama if you work an 8+ hour shift they're legally required to give you an hour lunch break in which you're not clocked in. That or just leave for lunch(even if you bring something), and then they can't ask you to do crap off the clock in the first place.

I'm supposed to get one, yes, but it's a very small business. We don't get overtime and we work past 'going home' time pretty often, that's not a big deal as I enjoy my work and like working there. I'm not bitching about shorting my lunch, I'm bitching about her ****ty attitude towards me when I tried to finish my damn food.

Well, it's something you should address with her. You are doing her the favour of cutting your lunch short to get to a customer, the least she can do is be understanding that since you stopped lunch to do that your lunch consequently might overrun that lunch hour. Like I was saying though, if you're not there they can't ask you to do crap and it's not like they can say or do anything for you being gone during your lunch break provided you get back in time. I'd just find somewhere within walking distance and then people could ask me to do **** after the fact, service writers can be inconsiderate ****s since them telling a customer that the tech is on lunch break is apparently too tremendous of an undertaking.

Clean seats are great and better audio is even better. I love the acoustics, at least for a sixth gen. The only thing that rattles is the license plate, and the hatch and open truck reflect the sound really well. I have a measly 150wrms running to a sealed 12" Infinity sub and it sounds great with nearly anything.
