Hmm, I wonder if a hinged brace would keep my leg from spasming involuntarily though. I can deal with the pain, it's my leg fluttering and spasming and having no control over the clutch that's the real issue. Especially on a hill, sure I use the handbrake to hold the car but if I can't get rolling smoothly then I'm ****ed. Then again I guess I could just rev it and dump the clutch and sling rubber and road debris onto any vehicles behind me, that'll teach them to get onto someone's ass while on a hill.

In other news ended up cutting a piece of wood down that mysteriously showed up next to the Firebird, now just need to find an 1/16" drill bit to make some holes for running cable ties to secure it to the clutch pedal arm as a mock fit. If it works out will find a rubber sanding block to use as an extension, since that'd be more comfortable than wood. Moving the seat up as close as possible helped some, so maybe this will help some more as well.

Which without driving it's hard to say definitively, but it seems to help somewhat. I guess between the reduction in how much my leg actually has to extend out and having more surface area for my foot to distribute pressure more evenly. The only issue is clearance between the pedal and the underside of the dash while wearing footwear, makes it hard to get the foot on and off the pedal just right. I suppose if it ends up helping when driving will order a rubber sanding block since it'll be more comfortable and look better.

Dude....come on...at least finish and paint that damn thing.

Oh yea, Friday on lunch I figured out why the defrost setting on my HVAC has been so weak. I thought it was a flap issue, it was not thank goodness! The bit of foam connecting the airbox to the air outlet on the dash was out of place blocking the flow and allowing air to escape. I managed to get a pick up in there and pulled it back into place more or less and I've got about 90% better airflow up there now. It seems to function properly, I can't remember if it's always had weak airflow up there or if this was something more recent, but it works now and that's what's important.

Working defrost is a nice feature.

Went ahead and ordered the sanding block, $5.50 shipped via Amazon Prime so why not. It's not like if it doesn't work out I can't use it on a Miata or whatever I may end up with. Though hopefully if testing with the wood block just sitting in the car is any indication it should help enough to where driving is possible, if not I'll just wallow in tears on the side of the road.

just hoping that block does not fall under the brake pedal and you are unable to brake. Be careful. Think about others as well. I know you passion for having a clutch, but if physically you cant do it, and you keep forcing your self, ultimately you are putting yourself in a bad spot every time. Accept it, and move on. Get an automatic. Have quality of life, do not overburden yourself, be patient.

When i herniated my disc, in the middle of the 2gr swap, it was the end, or so i thought. I came through, no daily meds for it. Just exercise and my own pt program. Everyone is different.

More pain medicine, your receptors get saturated, soon they stop working, and then more pain medicine is needed. see the cycle?

I'll secure the sanding block in place to the pedal arm with cable ties, the wood block was held in place surprisingly well with just one so using 2-4 cable ties on the sanding block that'll also give in and flex for a better fit I don't foresee it coming off on its own with use. Worst case scenario I get a Miata or something else with as light a clutch, since it's so light it doesn't cause any problems. I refuse to own an automatic, I don't like them and I don't trust them. The only form of automated shifting I'd perhaps be halfway ok with would be a dual clutch manual with 500+ horsepower, but honestly I rather have half the power and shift myself.

Yeah, oxycodone and morphine didn't do jack ****. Thank you genetic tolerance. Now I'm just on the low dose naltrexone for the fibro and tizanidine for the associated muscle symptoms. Long story short it's like my sensitivity is cranked up all the way, even barely touching my shins is painful and I can't even rest my elbows on an armrest. The swelling and inflammation is from the hypersensitivity caused by the fibro, so there's nothing surgery can do. Which speaking of alternative medicine, according to one doctor and their studies fibro is caused by a lack of natural endocannabinoids. Though until it's legal medicinally or recreationally I'm not going to bother trying marijuana.

Went to order my kilt and apparently my new card has to be activated at an ATM now, so went and checked sure enough the order for the sanding block didn't go through either. So tomorrow going to drive the Miata to the nearest ATM to get that b.s. sorted.

Well the LSD in the Miata definitely works, had some asshole in a POS Ford minivan decide they wanted to take off the right side of the Miata because they couldn't wait for me to take my turn so they squeezed between me and off onto the grass to cut me off. So I slung gravel all over their piece of ****, I hope I cracked their windshield.

Normally I just let **** go, but that just really pissed me off. I guess because more so it was my brother's car he was letting me borrow, and this ****er had to have been within an inch or two of me as he just flew right up with complete disregard for me and the law. Just because your life sucks and you drive an old POS minivan doesn't mean you can sling your junk around the road like an ass.

So I returned the favour by peppering it with gravel, maybe next time he'll rethink driving like an ass.
