How easy is it to replace the thermostat on the ST?

I believe mine is going out, the heater won't work unless i'm at WOT, and i've noticed my temp gauge is acting weird. It will dip down to the lower half towards Cold if I take a turn, or get on the gas.

Easy job? I can't find a service manual anywhere to look and see what I have to do. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

no clue, never replaced one before.

i've got a 96 ST and my temp needle keeps dipping down towards cold every time i accelerate or take a turn, i'm assuming it's the thermostat cause i checked the coolant levels and it was fine.

^u bet! its the least expensive part to replace while diagnosing, so the thermostat is always a good place to start

The reason I ask is my girls old '83 Dodge Mirada blows cold sometime and hot others. I don't remember the specific circumstances of what cause it to heat and whatever but I think I'll change it just to see if that stops the problem.
I know different car but I think it's like a $10 part so wtf? I know it was on my old 3S-GTE.

hi
To answer what size the bolts are it 10 mm,you follow the top hose from the raditor to the engine and there are the two 10 mm bolts.I work on a lot of thermostat a work almost all the old celica, camary and corrola there in the same place.
