you'd still have speed cut at 180km/h though, since its controlled by the ECU

![]() i'd really like the part number of this speedo to convert my jdm 180km/u speedo in my GT-4 everything is so simple (and behind is just politics and engine differences). RPMs 9000rpms - JDM 8000rpm - non JDM speedo 180km - JDM 240km - Euro ST 280km - Euro GT/GT-four 300km - TRD speedo 150mph/240km - US/UK ST 180mph/280km - US/UK GT combo gauge two gauges - GT/ST two gauges and "gears" - GT/ST automatic three gauges - GT-four And what you have is combination of JDM rpm and Euro GT/GT-four speedo. The same is the one in original topic... JDM GT cluster with TRD speedo. I have three different clusters at home so I can make any combination I want ![]() ![]() edit: that 280km speedo has part number 83110-2D550 ![]() ![]() JDM ![]() European ![]() US/CND ![]() This post has been edited by malpaso: Nov 10, 2009 - 3:49 AM -------------------- No more replicas... Ahh yes but that one comes from an NZ GT4 celica, not a JDM celica NZ had special market for Celicas or they are the same as OZ ones? I'm asking because OZ Celicas are mix of all markets (US, JDM and European ![]() -------------------- No more replicas... This is evolution... This is SS-four :)

NZ has its own market.
NZ new models are Toyota Celica GS (ST204) equiv to USDM GT but has a 240km speedo. AUS market Celicas are SX, SX-R and ZR, all ST204 and carry a 5S-FE. The NZ GT-Four is very rare, the first 5 were imported by Toyota NZ from the Australian batch of Group A Rallye. However that 280km/h speedo I posted is from a 1997 model (So is not a Rallye model). It has a NON-WRC engine, but has a hood spoiler -- Interesting? It's RHD, NZ New, Leather Seats, Sunroof, Non-facelift Tails, 3 post low spoiler, Fitted dash mat, Manual aircon. Normally in JDM Celicas there is a storage hole next to the cigarette lighter, this one has a blanked out switch panel. It's not Aus spec since the only Aus spec GT-Fours are Group A Rallye (correct me if I'm wrong Cuts?) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-238178204.htm Also interesting is the registration label which says 1997 TOYOTA CELICA 2.0TP 4WD LBACK3 5M whereas my registration label on my JDM simply says 1996 TOYOTA CELICA GT-FOUR -------------------- Mike W

This webpage speaks of the "only" 5 GT4s sold new in NZ (Aus spec Group A Rallye)
http://gtfour.supras.org.nz/history.htm So obviously the guy doesn't know about this 1997 silver nz new GT4 which appeared on trademe. So that makes 6 NZ new GT4s in total (that we know about) And as I said, It's not one of the Group A Rallye models so it can't be Aus spec (Where did it come from??) As on the webpage that mentions the 5 GT4's sold initially, there was one of each colour. I've seen the red one in person once, It looked as though it had been modified. I saw the GT-Four and Group A Rallye badges on the rear right of the car, To the left was a Toyota prefixed Celica badge to the left. A little while ago we saw a damaged NZ new 1994(?) White GT4 on trademe listed by repocars (repossessed cars, aka seized by authorities for being naughty), I did not see the Group A Rallye badge on the rear so this so this could make 7 NZ new GT4s in total that we know about. We should make a thread about the illusive NZ New GT4s (Theres a million ex-japan imports, but spot the difference on the rare ones is fun!) -------------------- Mike W
