Went and looked and video card has a total available memory of 358 mb, 64 of that being system video only and 294 of it shared. Somewhat better than I expected it to be, but definitely the weak link in the chain.

That is a good deal, but 128 gb is more than enough for me. I think I have like 30 gb or so tied up at the moment and that's with half of that being games. tongue.gif

dedicated video memory is nice, that must not be the chipset video but a discrete graphics onboard.

Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family: GMA X3100

That's what it has. Suppose being the laptop was made in '06 or so it's decent enough.

Ah ok, I got it. It's got 64MB set aside in BIOS and can grab up to an additional 256 or whatever as needed?

I suppose that's how it's being done, under the specs it has a section for dedicated memory and there's 0 there.

Did a wash&wax on the Firebird the other day, it actually looks pretty decent. Who knew. tongue.gif Was going to finally change the valve cover gaskets so it'd stop leaking oil onto the exhaust, but I was viciously attacked by ants as I set everything up. After exacting revenge the mood had passed, so maybe tomorrow.

So today I went to a local car show. Honestly the more shows I go to the more I like what I have.

I know that feeling, even going and parking way off to the side in a BONE STOCK 7G Celica and walking around I felt proud of my car  It looked better than 70% of what was there 'on show'.

That too. I like my stuff because it's just different and cool. I mean none of my cars are as valuable as a 69 z28 but they're all more unique to me.

I just feel disappointed when my 36 year old car is in better shape than cars less than half its age. At that show I went to there was a Cobalt SS that was covered in spray paint... I'm like...what... Seemed like the vast majority of the cars there were just not in great shape, some were only a couple of years old and had bumpers falling off and dented fenders... There were those few nice cars though, coincidentally they were owned by older people. Go figure.

Yeah I see that at shows in my town too. The older people usually have nice things and the younger people have crappier things. I know some of that has to do with income but they can still make things nice. I don't have much money to work on my things, and none of my things are show perfect but I try my best to make them look the best I can.

I understand not having an unlimited budget for your car but there's no reason for it to be covered in spray paint(poorly done on top of that), on chopped springs, and for the interior to be haphazardly covered in spray paint and duct tape. Really, how can you honestly believe you're making an improvement? Also terrible sounding exhaust and not knowing how to drive stick properly, worst combination ever.

My Celica may have 15 year old paint that was NEVER taken care of right, but I can spend 12 hours over a few days and make it look like it's covered the essence of liquid black. What you're seeing there is kids wanting their heads patted for doing anything.

In fact I was just out in the garage restoring the faded black plastic grill on my Mazda DD/Winter beater with a heat gun so it's black not gray and then I spent about 30 minutes doing a 6x6 section of the front fender by hand to see if it was worth my time to clay, polish, glaze, and seal the paint on the car or if I should just wash, quick polish, and seal. I pulled ALL the fine scratches out of the clear coat and it's like glass over the light blue pearl paint. I can make this car look good again mostly. Good enough for a daily to look. And once a car is all gone over and detailed and done it's easier to maintain it over the summer and even the winter.

My goal in life is to own a car that isn't red or white, every car I've owned has been red or white and I hate them.

Black is my favourite absence of colour though! Really a nice metallic or pearl blue/purple/teal would make me really happy. Sadly every time I go car shopping all the ones up for sale are red or white. It's like the universe hates me.

According to the Trans Am people I shouldn't bother with the Firebird because it's a base model with a Chevrolet engine, it might as well just be a parts car for a rusted out Trans Am. So I'm going to sell it to someone that doesn't care so I can buy a rusted out Trans Am with a 400/455 so then everything I do to it isn't a waste of time and money. Seems legit.
