Yes, because insurance fraud always works out. tongue.gif It's not like I couldn't keep it if I can get those things sorted out soon enough. Low teens won't really matter driving around town and it was comfortable even with worn out crappy seats, and it has an automatic you people keep telling me to have. At the very least getting it drivable will make it a lot easier to sell. I dunno, I just keep looking around at what is for sale and I couldn't replace it for what I could get out of it apparently. So why it's being so difficult is beyond me. Anything much cheaper is complete junk and doesn't run at all and has the original neutered engine, at least this one really just needs the trans redone and has a clean title which is more that can be said for a lot of them...

So you bitched about the back seat in the Celica and then bought a MK2 MR2.

I did haha. But I also picked up a 2002 IS300 and a 91 Toyota PU (California raised!). At one point I had 6 cars sitting at my parents driveway 😢

LOL 6 cars!? Do you have any idea how much I would get yelled at if I had so much as three cars littered on their lawn/house?

Also the back seats in the RSX (at least for me being 5'4") are infinitely more useful than my 98 GT. I found a guy who has an 05 with only 54k miles on it, but he wants 11 grand for it. Plus he has gone out of town twice in two weeks but the photo's look cherry

Now I feel weird saying I'm only 5'10"... Ehh... I fit in the back of the Firebird actually even though it's only 49" at its tallest point, the way they did the back seat you sit down into it unlike most cars the rear seat is elevated for whatever reason. My brother's Genesis is that way, I think it was like 54" at its tallest point stock and there's no way for me to fit in the rear. I think the Celica was like 51" or so stock and same problem. The weirdest thing about the Celica was the ashtray in the rear, that one is still beyond me.

Thinking about tossing the Firebird back on there for like $2,500-3,000. Haven't found a transmission yet and really just don't feel like futzing with cars anymore. It'd take a climate controlled garage with a lift and air tools, even then there's no guarantee I'd feel up to doing anything. Last few days have felt so bleh haven't even gotten onto the computer.

Side note I was looking around Mazda's website and the image on the left is a really good angle of the NA:

Makes me want a NA8 in Brilliant Black, Montego Blue, or Merlot.

That's six gallons of fuel though that'll let it run for like two hours at best. tongue.gif

Maybe we can both have some luck here soon. I did have a kid looking for a project car stop by the other day while I was laid up in bed, my brother showed it to him and he said he was really interested in it and that the second gen Firebird was his favourite car. Took some pictures and then said it might be a month or two before he had the money though, not holding my breath at this point but if I get it driving again by then I'll really be hard pressed on what to do. I wish I had stuck with my original plan of getting an original 301 car that everything was there and working(*cough* AC) and then swapped in a LT1/T56 out of a totaled 4th gen, it's just ridiculous how much fuel it sucks down just idling and it's not like it's dumping it out the exhaust anymore. Really two-three gallons an hour is probably about right sadly... Fuel injection is a wonderful thing, why people like carburetors is beyond me.

If you get hired you can list the Corolla and Firebird. tongue.gif

Decided I'm just better off selling it, to get it to where I want I just don't have the energy to mess with cars anymore. Maybe one day I'll win the lottery and then I'll just have one built exactly how I want by Foose or Kindig. I'll just get a 4th gen or another Japanese sports car and call it a day. Yes with a manual because I'm stubborn and after the auto in the Firebird crapping out after a few hundred miles I'm back to hating them with a burning passion and I just can't trust them, one minute they're fine and the next they're dead. Unless you grenade the input shaft at least a manual won't have total failure, plus you can get a feel for their condition during a test drive. Can't talk me out of it, don't bother. Besides my doctor says I need to try exercising and driving a manual spiritedly counts. tongue.gif

Going out to what's going to be likely the last Mitsubishi Owners Day down at the Normal IL factory since it's being closed. Meeting up with old man Celica and going to Peoria to help him knock out some brake lines and maybe just assemble the brakes on his 7G Celica, it's been sitting since last October!

Tried to streamline and declutter it some. I had thought about putting it at the end I'd trade, but that always opens a can of worms. Not entirely sure on what I want but I really just honestly can't trust buying another automatic anytime soon, every time I buy one I get burned and I'm tired of it.

Got his 7G brakes all done, buttoned up, test drove, and first bedding session done. Will do the second bedding tomorrow after breakfast. His wife was very pleased to see the car off jackstands!
