Today I sent off my 914 carbs to be rebuilt. Also started cleaning the engine. It's not a fun task.

I bought some super bright T10 amber LED bulbs on sale from Amazon and popped them in my side markers, they appear to be almost double as bright as the old bulbs which were very bright. And bonus to that I bought a pair of modules that should let me turn the front side markers into turn signal repeaters to blink with the turn signal when the lights are off and to wig/wag them when the lights are on. So I'll have super bright side turn signal repeaters on the car! It'll be totally unique and look really cool.

And I just finished up sealing up and fixing my sound damping job on the front passenger side door. All done, can't say it sounds any different but I feel better. My next area of attack is the rear deck as it buzzes and rattles badly!I need to punch one more hole for one speaker so it's got all 4 bolts holding it then get to damping the deck and sealing it up. I'd like to reinforce it some to make it more rigid but I'm not really sure how to go about doing that just yet.

I keep hoping Santa will bring me a T10 and install it for me, but somehow I doubt that'll happen.

a lot of it is patching up the botched body work that the previous owner had done to the car.

The never ending joy that is fixing previous owners' nonsense...

So I went ahead and pulled the Craigslist ad since the one with the Accord SHOULD finally have the title soon. Honestly at this point based on what I've been offered the last couple of months I'm almost to the point of ecstatic over an Accord. Meh who knows maybe I'll end up liking it, at the least it'll be better than the Durango.

Had someone drop by this morning that's dropped by before, turns out they had to get a new phone and lost my number. Asked if I'd be into trading and said yeah so long as it was a two door with a manual, and apparently he has a few RX-7s and a Miata. So maybe that'll pan out as those are two vehicles I'd like to own.

Miata over RX7. Rotaries make bad daily drivers.

Yeah that was my thought, at least I know what to look for on the Miata having owned one and know it can be a reliable daily. I want to say he said one of the RX-7s had a 350 swapped into it and that it had a manual trans. He kept pointing to the main road that my road exits onto saying he lived "over there" so he must not be too terribly far away. He said he really only wanted it for the body and interior since he had a drivetrain he wanted to use already. So between him, the Beetle, and the Accord maybe something will pan out soon.

Swapped the mirror turn signal bulbs and the puddle lights to LED on the GF's 2016 Ford Escape. Looks much nicer and the mirror turn signals are about 3x brighter than before, throw much more light to the sides and back, the puddle lights throw light over a much much wider area on either side of the car and are 'whiter' which she likes. They're actually a useful light to find things dropped on the ground and to see the ground. Tomorrow I pull the front bumper to give her the train horn like the Celica. Beep beep mother****er!
