The key is to have two cars which are polar opposites laugh.gif

Hmmm, you might be onto something. Though it'd be nice to have one car that does it all since you can only drive one car at a time anyway.

Nope. You get sick of one, you drive the other, then back and forth. Been driving the Mazda lately, smooth, nice sound system, quiet, roomy, easy to get in and out of. Slow, mushy, lots of brake dive, tons of body roll.

Ease up on the praise there. laugh.gif

Which my brother said something I thought he never would and that being he's kind of grown tired of the Genesis, mainly that it's too slow now for him. Which it feels fairly quick as it is, but it does feel slower than the Firebird for some reason even though the power to weight ratio should be pretty close between them. Which I told him I think part of it is the Firebird is just vicious when you get on it, it slams you into the seat where even though the Genesis pushes you back it never slams you. That and you can break traction on a whim with the Firebird where you really have to try in the Genesis. I just wish there was an inexpensive way of putting IRS into the Firebird then I'd be golden, but so far the only kit that isn't even out yet is right at $7,000. Hell between that and selling the Firebird just get a C5.

Well I finally found someone that's done a Watt's link and a **** ton of other top tier quality suspension mods just say he still finds the solid axle to be a pain, apparently so much so he's ready to spend $7K on that IRS when it comes out even though he just spent the money to do the Watt's link a couple months ago. I guess that answers that then...

Best looking S chassis, imo.

It's a tough choice between it and the S13 liftback, though overall as a car inside and out I'd definitely choose the kouki S14. S14 interior is a lot nicer, and no stupid automatic belts since it has dual airbags. The only problem with the S14(or any S chassis) aside from finding one close to stock is it'd mean giving up half the power I have, but it has IRS and awesome looks though so that counts for something right. At least with the Z32 the power cut isn't so severe and I still really like how it looks too. That's ok I still haven't taken pictures to finish my listing because there's a giant debate going on in my head on what to do. I still like the Firebird ok enough, but I'll never be fully happy with the handling. I just had someone that races a '95 Camaro say if you're at all serious about handling you shouldn't stick with the F-body even though they can be made to do fairly well, so that's two now with all out suspensions say such. At least they've spared me the trouble and expense of learning this for myself.

Celica oil change today. Trying for alignment to add camber tomorrow. Went with Rotella T6 5w-40 this time cause it's higher Zinc content is better for my valve train. When I used 5W-40 M1 TDT before it ran a lot quieter with less VVT lock pin chatter at idle. I'm doing mostly highway with it now so I want a heavier oil for summer heat.

They make a Rotella T6 5W-30 as well now too so you can use it for the colder months.

I don't use the Celica in colder months and the Mazda just gets Valvoline high mileage oil in 5W-30, got tired of looking for 0W-30 all the time.

That's right I keep forgetting other parts of the country have salt and nonsense when it gets colder out, or what some would consider actual cold.

So selling the Firebird is like breaking up with someone you like and have fun with, but deep down you know it's not going anywhere long term. That's my simile for comparing car love to human love for the day.

I love cars somewhere between how you'd love a pet or platonic friend, until just now I thought that might be weird but for some reason now I don't.

Indeed I did. I keep putting off taking pictures of the Firebird so I can finish my eBay listing. Watching a video on doing the timing belt for a 300ZX hasn't helped neither does the fact when everyone that owns one says they're giant money pits, I honestly don't see how the N/A could be that bad though. Plus I'd only get a '94-95 to avoid all the earlier problems, and door mounted seat belts. '96 lost the variable valve timing otherwise it'd be in contention. This is the problem with liking most all cars and being terribly indecisive as it is, also not being rich so I can just buy one of everything at once. I don't see how people keep one car for an extended period of time and not get tired of it in some manner. I just haven't found the one I guess, or I'm just too picky for my own good. Either way.

My 93 300zx 2+2 Na isnt that bad. The only complaints i have about owning one is the pedals are way toooo close together. So if you wear boots your hitting the gas and brake at the same time or clutch and brake. And the engine bay is quite cramped. Also if you luck out and get a t-top model, make sure to find the shades for them, pretty hard to find. I rarely drive mine tho, i bought it because the alternator was shot and didnt have wheels. So it was a deal too good to pass up. And believe me the wife gets angry when i keep bringing home cars laugh.gif

I didn't think it was out of the norm for a car person, but who knows.

I only wear loafers, tennis shoes, or flip flops/sandals and when I wear those I drive barefoot. The engine bay doesn't look any worse than the Firebird, at least on the 300ZX you can change the spark plugs without too much trouble. What do you mean luck out and get a t-top model, most of them are T-tops. tongue.gif I rather have the hardtop, I've really liked the Firebird not having T-tops since I'd never take them out anyway.
