I will try to keep these in order, but there are a BUNCH of pictures.

Prep night in the garage the night before the swap.

I parked the car at the swap location, and this was my mileage.

Special Delivery!

The patient.

Remove hood.

Progress.

Now lean back!

Stupid Axles.

More progress.

More help arrives.

x2

Loose.

Hooked up!

x2

Stupid rear mount! Curtis was PISSED.

Got it!

x2

Almost!

OUT!

Empty!

x2

Tranny off!

Up to bat!

Clutch/Flywheel/Pressure plate INSTALLED!

Those are the last of the pictures for now because it got dark and cold really fast. We will pick up tomorrow.

The transmission is installed on the engine (engine 100% ready to install), walbro installed, ecu installed, hole cut in firewall for wiring, and obviously...5s removed...

Quick question. I went ahead and did this, but i just want to be sure. I took the mount from the back of the 5s that the axle bolts to, and bolted it to the back of the 3s....Is this correct? Or should I somehow find a way to use the 3s mount?

Still waiting on my order from siliconeintakes.com. should be streetable by next week. I'm running into a couple of issues finding a coil wire, gotta fab the intercooler piping, install the gauges, and put the interior back together.

I'm waiting on the 5s coil wire. My 5s didn't have the California ignition, which means that my coil is internal. Toyota can source the wires individually. Part only costs about 5 bucks. AutoZone wanted 50 bucks for the full wire set. F*** That!!!

Got the intercooler mounted today, and made a new steel crash bar. I'd feel really bad for the poor sap that hit me. This thing is brutally rigid!

I can't freaking wait! All the little stuff takes soooo much time. It only took a couple hours to put the motor in, but it's taking DAYS to knock the rest out. I want to drive her this week sooooooo badly.

Got a question for you guys...The car won't idle without me keeping pressure on the throttle. I realize that it's just air going straight into the throttle body, and I haven't hooked up the two vacuum lines that go up to the intake, and the car needs a little more coolant, and to be burped. But shouldn't it idle under it's own will??? It's a map sensor car. It seems to me like it should idle just fine despite the lack of the above listed items....Thoughts?

a damaged map sensor wouldn't let the car run at all. Take a look at you're idle air control valve. it might be gummed up, or unplugged, or it may be damaged. If I remember right the idle air setup on these engines is pretty funky, so that would definitely be the first place to look
